Click a tree website
Media Consulta (MC) has created a pan-European campaign “Click a tree” for the European Commission to raise awarness of climate protection among young people in the EU Member States – particularly in the Eastern European countries. The campaign’s website, www.clickatree.europa.eu, which is a core component of the campaign, has already registered more than 2.000 applicants to take part in this special planting promotion.
Conceptualised and programmed by MC, the “Click a tree” website is now available in ten European languages. The site’s first 5.000 participants will receive a seedling which they may plant anywhere in Europe. With an uploaded photo of the planted tree and its placement on a virtual map on the website, young environmentalists encourage other Internet users to participate. The ten most successful participants in the promotion will win a trip to an environmental camp. The closing date is 15th November 2009.
In addition to the design and programming of the website, MC also produced two viral spots that have been aired in six Eastern European countries and are available on the video platform MCTubeTV. Since July, the integrated communication agency has been showcasing the most recent, exciting and funniest footage produced by MC TV and Film Production on www.youtube.com/MCTubeTV. In order to expand the coverage of the campaign even further MC established a co-operation with the social community MySpace. At www.myspace.de/clickatree you can find information about the campaign as well as the two videos “Go for a walk” and “Hit a tree” plus various wallpapers for download.
