On behalf of the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA) as well as the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (APEX Brasil), MC has co-organised this year’s WAIPA World Investment Conference and has taken over the accompanying press work. At the event in October 2009 in Milan, heads of state and chief executives from the private sector discussed new approaches to investment assistance. In the course of the worldwide economic crisis, it becomes necessary to develop innovative investment possibilities and to exchange ideas with different states.
MEDIA CONSULTA could recruit renowned speakers in the fields of economy and politics from the event. A few key people have been identified as recommended speakers including, former German Finance Minister Hans Eichel, chief economist of the German Bank Norbert Walter, as well as former president of the European Parliament Josep Borrell. Furthermore, MC promoted the event with extensive PR measures ahead of, during and after the campaign. These services included the dispatch of international press articles, communication with journalists as well as the organisation of a press conference and a press trip for economics journalists.
The activities in the Latin-American Mercosur states, to which Brasil belongs, too, are part of a strategy for advancing MC’s global presence. In addition to founding further network agencies, priority is given to gaining new clients such as APEX Brasil. The organisation of the WAIPA Conference is the first project MC has implemented for the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency; further campaigns are planned. Besides the meeting in Milan, the APEX has supported a second project in Europe: a press conference regarding the topic “Exotic fruit juices made in Brazil” during the food and beverage exhibition Anuga 2009 in Cologne/Germany together with Etélio Prado, President of the Association of Tropical Fruit-Processing Industries (ASTN).
