MC organises workshop at The Royal Show 2009

MC will organise a workshop for the European Commission at the UK’s flagship agricultural event, “The Royal Show”, in Warwickshire, near Birmingham. The event, entitled “Organic Farming and the European Union – Perspectives for Farmers and Producers from the United Kingdom“, will take place on 8 July 2009 in co-operation with MC’s partner, the UK Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).

On behalf of the European Commission Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development (DG AGRI), MC will take responsibility for invitation management, room booking and co-ordination with the show hosts and several on-site services such as catering and techniques. About 100 participants are expected, including journalists, customers, farmers, retailers and catering service providers. The aim of the workshop is to spread information about the EU’s campaign “Organic Farming” and to discuss marketing concepts for organic agricultural products in the UK.

MC’s agreement with DG AGRI runs for three years with a provision for various services including the design and implementation of the website, www.organic-farming.europa.eu, PR, advertising and TV measures.
